I hope you’re in the mood for some horse paintings because I have quite a few to share with you this week. The commission project has inspired me to keep exploring this subject as well as doing some works on canvas. When I was doing all the landscapes I started painted more on unstretched canvas. This allowed me the freedom of using a firm backing and eliminated the pressure of trying to create a perfect painting NOW. Maybe that’s why I prefer paper since there’s no pressure to create something extraordinary, while painting on a stretched canvas seems so intimidating. When I cut a piece of canvas from the roll it’s easy for me to not try so hard and to have a more carefree attitude.  It seems silly but for me it works for me.
