Virginia seascape painting with two fishing boats. ‘Two Boats’ See video demonstration
22″ x 15″, Acrylic on Paper, Sold unframed
SOLD. Thanks Jinnie May Fine Arts
Acrylic on paper was the desired medium for this expressive landscape painting. Having spent several years on the high seas it’s easy to connect to this subject. The sound of a diesel engine still excites me and brings back fond memories of the good ole’ days. Of course I’ll trade in the slickers and scallop knife for an easel and paintbrush any day of the week. The port where I fished from is about twenty minutes away and I try to pop-in as often as I can for a plein air session. However this time of the year the harbor is pretty empty since it’s scallop season but I look forward to October when it’s thick with steel hulled fishing boats and rumbling diesel engines.
I’ve included a video demonstration of this painting for your viewing pleasure. Making the videos have been an interesting learning experience and I catch myself cringing at some of the choices I make during a painting. But in the end it always seems to come together, well at least for the published ones that is. I’ve decided to keep some of the reject videos and make a montage of painting bloopers so you can also enjoy the not so good demos too. They’re adding up so look for one soon.
Before I embark on the rest of this cool September morning I wanted to send out a special thank-you too all the subscribers. The list is growing daily and I’m excited about sending out the first newsletter in October.
Have a super Saturday and I’ll see you back here tomorrow.
