This is an alla prima studio painting that was done yesterday. It’s been pretty cold and windy in our neck of the woods lately, so I’ve been working with some simple still life paintings to mix it up a bit. I have discovered through plein air painting that being in front of the subject is imperative to capturing the character and atmosphere of the moment. So I figured this would be a great alternative to plein air painting when the weather isn’t cooperating.
