This Week’s Seek-And-Find Contest. We Have A Winner, Congrats To Suzanne
We Have A Winner…Congrats to Suzanne!
Here’s How The Contest Works
I’ll post a new clue everyday. The new clue will be posted just below in the ‘Clue’ area.
The clue will help you find the blatant mistake.
The error can be found on any page this website.
If the answer is on a blog post, it will not be any older than three weeks.
Or, my Etsy site.
All answers must be posted here in the comments area.
I’ll answer the guesses ASAP, so please be patient.
The painting at the top of this post is the prize.
Contest ends Thursday at midnight EST.
Clues
Monday – Clue One : H2O
Tuesday – Clue Two : When you hover, you will discover.
Good luck! Hope you enjoy the contest and I look forward to hearing your guesses.

I see a flying fish coming out of the water by the green boat!
Robert Joyner
Thanks for guessing Kathy, but that’s not it.

I also see what looks like a person in front of the boat, over the last r in your name. Looks like Wilma Flintstone kicking something! Haha! I’ll keep looking.
Robert Joyner
Ha…that’s another creative and imaginative guess, however…that’s not it.
Suzanne Mogensen
My guess is on the Etsy site, you have a watercolor titled ‘Original Virginia landscape painting’ and in the description you call it a seascape. So my guess is it’s a seascape, not a landscape. It’s a watercolor of fishing boats in a harbor.
Robert Joyner
Great guess, but not the one i’m looking for this time.

The boats are obviously at rest, but are they about to be engulfed by a rogue wave? The water (light blue) in the upper left seems quite a bit higher than the horizon. But wait a minute: what expressionistic painter cares about that sort of detail? Given your philosophy (which you’ve sold me on), there’s no such thing as a “blatant mistake,” is there?
Cheers,
Bill

Hey Bill!
Thanks for guessing but that’s not it. So it seems like most of the guesses have been directed towards the free painting, which is incorrect. Consider that your bonus of the day.
Bill
Robert – Ok, how about the apparent misspelling of your name? (Looks like “Joynor.”) Bill

. . . or the apparent rip in the watercolor paper (above background boat)? Jeez, Robert, what IS it?
Robert Joyner
Greetings!
Sorry I couldn’t respond to the guesses last night. My network was down due to some severe storms.
However, none of the guesses were correct.
Second clue coming soon!
Catherine Calvert
This is so much fun!!! I have no guesses yet, but think that this is super awesome and can’t wait to follow the clues. -Catherine

Hi again! I gotta’ get a life–but this thing’s driving me nuts. Don’t know much about boats, but the big boat looks like it’s steam powered. (The thing I thought was a rip in the paper is more likely a plume of smoke coming from the stack.) Is that normal–to have a steam-powered motor boat? If so, do such boats have two stacks, as seems to be the case in this painting? My (yes, final) guess is that the “blatant mistake” is the depiction of a steam-powered motor boat with two stacks. C’est tout. Bill

The mistake is on the Etsy page as follows
Plein air oil seascape painting with fishing boatsr.
I really hope that’s it…
Robert Joyner
Bill and Suzanne.
Thanks for guessing, but that’s not it!
Here is your last BONUS for the day! It’s not on Etsy!
Good luck, and I’ll go fix that typo now:)
Suzanne Mogensen
OK if this is wrong you really need to hire me as your editor…
On Contemporary Seascape with Lobster Boats on the blog when you “hover” over one of the detail pictures it says “seescape” instead of “seascape”
Whew….
Robert Joyner
BINGO! We have a winner. Excellent job Suzanne! I’ll leave the mistake as is until tomorrow AM so everyone can see what it is. This will help you on the future contests.
Suzanne, I’ll email you with a few instructions. I can’t believe you got that with only a few clues. The next one will have to be more difficult.
Thanks to everyone for participating!
Robert Joyner
Here is a link to the post with an error. I just wanted everyone to ‘see’ it.
