Abstract Representational Cityscape Painting

Richmond Cityscape Painting

Details About This Urban Artwork

Acrylic on canvas, measures 36″ x 24″

Inspiration Behind The Artwork

Last fall I was cycling to work and would occasionally bring my camera to capture some of the scenery. The photo I took initiated this composition, but I can tell you I used my imagination for most of it. It was one of those pieces that I kind of got lost in the moment and never referred to the photo once the idea was in place.

Portrait Of George Washington

Original portrait of George Washington by American artist Robert Joyner

Details About This Portrait Of George Washington

Title ‘George No.5′, Acrylic on paper, measures 12″ x 14″

Inspiration Behind The Artwork

Portraits are new for 2012 and I decided to explore some of the past Presidents. It’s been an interesting journey since starting the new theme and I’ve really enjoyed, or enjoying the challenge. Since my style is so loose, portraits were always something I avoided. However, I now feel I’m on my way to blending my style with faces. There’s still plenty of room for improvement but I like where it’s going!

Details About These Abstract NFL Football Paintings

These are a few more samples of what’s been going on at the easel lately. I’ve had a great time getting reacquainted with football paintings and kind of sad the season will be over soon. After watching the games yesterday I have to say I’m pleased to see the rematch between the Giants and Patriots. Should be an interesting conclusion to the 2011-12 football season.

If you would like more info about my technique then be sure to check out the video tutorials and demonstrations.

Contemporary Football Painting Featuring Tom Brady

Contemporary painting of Tom Brady

Details About This Expressive Football Artwork

Title ‘Brady’ Acrylic on paper, measures 15″ x 18″

Inspiration Behind The Art

This piece is inspired from all the football I’ve been watching on the weekends. I figured I would paint one of the more popular football athletes this time so I focused on The New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady. I see the Pats making the Super Bowl this year and playing the Giants for a rematch. What’s your bold prediction?

Anyhow, hope you enjoy the games this weekend.
