Abstract Abraham Lincoln Portrait
Abstract Abraham Lincoln Portrait Details
Probably my favorite Abraham Lincoln portrait to date. Love all the brushworks and abstract qualities this painting has to offer. It really captures a keen likeness despite the loose style and charcoal scribbles that seem to have a mind of their own.
The palette consists of earthy flesh tones, deep blues, pinkish grays, golden yellows and a pop of orange. The medium is heavy body acrylics, inks and compressed charcoal on paper. The painting measures 30" x 22" and sold quickly. I miss it already.
Portraits have become a focus in 2015. I find them challenging and most importantly rewarding! They have a long way to go before they have the signature 'Joyner looseness' but I'm satisfied with the progress. Would love to eventually have the same freedom in portraits as I do cows.
Hope you enjoyed the new painting. Thanks for having a look.
