In this class you will learn tips for getting started with plein air painting. Included are the materials I use, thoughts for finding good locations, and a complete step-by-step demonstration.

Here's a material list;

  • En Plein Air Pro Package w/ Tripod - PURCHASE LINK
  • Watercolor Paint (Try to keep colors to 12, or less)
  • Paper Palette
  • 140 lb. Cold Press, 1/2 & 1/4 sheets (15x22, 11x15)
  • Small Sketch Book
  • Handful of brushes, mostly synthetic & hogs hair
  • Spray/mist Bottle
  • Paper Towels
  • Baby Wipes (cleaning hands)
  • Artist Tape, or Bull Dog Clips
  • Graphite, Compressed Charcoal
  • Small Water Reservoir
  • Plastic Bag - Trash, etc.
  • Gator Board For Attaching Paper - 16x24 will do
