Artist Notes

It's derby season and the race horse artwork is front and center. The new edition to my medium lately is colored pencils. I've always enjoyed drawing and to incorporate the pencils allows me to get 'sketchy' with my subjects. My tendency is to paint bits and pieces of the subject in a somewhat accurate manner, leaving other areas untouched. Because I have these loosely painted, or untouched areas, I can now add colored pencil to capture the lost shapes. Thus creating a more recognizable subject. If all the subject is painted, there's really no opportunity to do this, right? Something to keep in mind as you view the piece.

Hope you enjoyed the goods and thanks for stopping by.
